Trempealeau to McGregor, IA
Today was a record day for us - we made it 80 miles with four Lock and Dams along the way. We were off at 8:00 and finally found a marina that was still open at McGregor, IA at 5:30. It was off and on rain today and Carol dressed in two sweatshirts plus cap and jacket with lining to stay dry and warm – what a fashion statement!! Speaking of fashion statements, Mark decided to have a ponytail for the first time today.
We are still unpacking little by little and eating creative meals from the pantry of both boat and home. We are still enjoying the apple harvest and tomatoes from Dea and Dave’s garden. We think we will have all this food eaten by the time we reach Florida.
The pony tail looks GREAT!!! Once it's a bit longer, it will lay nicely in the back and maybe we can braid it by Christmas?!?!? HA!
ReplyDeleteCarol - you always look cute. No matter how many fashion statements you don't choose to follow. :)
Keep moving South where it will hopefully keep getting warmer!
Love you both!!! Travel on...
M&C,
ReplyDeleteYou guys are missing some early winter weather here. This Sunday night and into Monday 2 to 3" are expected. Ugly! Great Blog update and Mark's pony tail now only needs an ear ring to complete the profile. Remember to place it on the proper ear. It might otherwise send the wrong message to a lock master. Recovered your blue tooth and it's now in my car. When will Carol drive and Mark does the outside work? Don't hurry to FL before us.

Dad...I think you should put the pony on the top of your head for the next pic!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you guys are having a great time! Better hurry! It's getting cold! Ahhhh....I'm already dreaming about FLA!!!
Love you guys! BE SAFE!
Monica
NO! I think he should pull them back SUPER TIGHT and have one ponytail on each side... you know like he made us do all growing up. :) OK, next picture, please. Carol - you on it?
ReplyDeleteGreat talking to you both today! Glad to hear you're still talking to each other and although nothing bad has happened, you're stilling finding adventure in all around you.
Love you!
Thank God my daughter Nicki stopped by and put me on as one of your followers. I am computer illiterate. Now I can join in the fray on this journey. By the way Mark and Carol, I just got word that Willie Nelson and Minnie Pearl are both jealous of you. I'm not sure if it's because of the Great Loop or the pony tail and fashion statement. Take care and enjoy every minute.
